Legal
Content License
Last updated: July 13, 2026
This document explains who owns what: the content you provide, the materials Shortlist generates, and the licences that let the service work.
1. Your input content
You keep all rights in the information you provide — your background, job descriptions, notes and any files. You grant DENHOLM ASSOCIATES LIMITED a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely to operate the service and generate your materials. This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account, except where we must retain records by law.
2. Sensitive personal data in your materials
CVs and profiles often contain sensitive personal data such as your name, contact details and work history. You retain ownership of that data. We process it only to provide the tools, store it securely, and let you delete it on request. We do not use it to train AI models and we do not create synthetic faces or voice of you. See our Privacy Policy.
3. Generated materials
Subject to your subscription being in good standing, you may use the CV outlines, cover letters, interview notes, brand visuals and video-intro scripts generated for you for your own personal job search, including commercial use in applying for roles. You are responsible for reviewing and verifying them before use.
4. Templates, brand and software
The Shortlist software, brand, template designs and site content are owned by DENHOLM ASSOCIATES LIMITED and licensed to you for use within the service. You may not resell, redistribute or repackage the templates or the tool itself as your own product or service.
5. Third-party and generated imagery
Brand visuals are generated from abstract graphics and your chosen palette; they do not depict real, identifiable people and must not be used to impersonate anyone. You must not upload or generate content that infringes a third party’s intellectual property, trademarks or likeness.
6. Feedback
If you send us suggestions, we may use them to improve the service without obligation to you, and without using your personal materials to do so.
