Terms of Service
Last updated: July 13, 2026
These terms form a contract between you and DENHOLM ASSOCIATES LIMITED (trading as Shortlist). By using our website or tools you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. What Shortlist is
Shortlist is an online-only digital software subscription that helps you prepare your own job-application materials — a tailored CV outline, cover letter, gap analysis, interview preparation, personal-brand visuals and a video-intro script — generated from the information you provide.
2. Not a recruitment agency; no job guarantee
Shortlist is not a recruitment agency, employment agency, job board or employer. We do not introduce you to jobs, match you with employers, submit applications on your behalf, charge employers, or take any fee from a placement. We do not guarantee any interview, job offer, employment outcome, salary, or applicant-tracking-system (ATS) pass rate. Any outcome depends on your own efforts, the accuracy of the information you provide, and decisions made entirely by third-party employers.
3. No legal, immigration or professional advice
Shortlist does not provide legal, immigration, visa, work-permit, tax, financial or careers-counselling advice. Content generated by the tools is informational only. For advice on your specific circumstances, consult a suitably qualified professional.
4. Your responsibilities and honest use
You are solely responsible for the truthfulness of everything you submit and everything you send to employers. You must not use Shortlist to fabricate qualifications, credentials, employment history or any other false information. The tools help you present your real experience clearly. Your use is also governed by our Acceptable Use Policy.
5. Accounts and eligibility
You must provide accurate account information and keep your credentials secure. Shortlist is not for children under 13. Users aged 13–17 may use it only with the consent and supervision of a parent or guardian. By using the service you confirm you meet these requirements.
6. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
Paid plans are recurring subscriptions billed in US dollars (USD) through Stripe on a monthly or yearly basis until cancelled. Your plan allowance resets each billing period and does not roll over. You can cancel at any time and will retain access until the end of your current period. Refunds are handled under our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
7. Intellectual property and your content
We own the Shortlist software, brand and templates. You retain ownership of the content you input and, subject to your subscription, of the materials you generate. Licensing of generated output is described in our Content License.
8. AI-generated content disclaimer
Output is produced with automated systems and may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your purpose. You must review and verify all content before using it. See our AI Disclaimer.
9. Acceptable use and suspension
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy, that attempt to misuse or overload the service, or that use the tools for unlawful, deceptive or discriminatory purposes.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shortlist is provided “as is”. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost opportunities, offers or employment. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. Where liability is not excluded, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Changes to the service or terms
We may update the service and these terms. We will post the updated version with a new “last updated” date, and material changes will be notified where appropriate. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Scotland, United Kingdom, and disputes are subject to the courts of Scotland. Contact us at support@denhasso.shop.
